This student-led WebQuest will take students through a variety of websites to research Martin Luther King Jr. and his life. Your students will learn to navigate through articles, stories, songs, and more as they complete meaningful activities.

Student-friendly sites include songs, read-aloud stories, biographies, facts, and more. YouTube links are shared through a Safe Share site and without popups.

Here is what you will get:

  • a research booklet that includes vocabulary, a timeline, interesting facts, and a favorite quote section for students to complete
  • a student poster to complete and color
  • a short writing activity
  • a foldable book with short writing prompts
  • a prewriting page with lined paper for completed writing
  • decorative paper for writing an acrostic poem.

There is a choice of using Symbaloo tiles where students can click on each site by choosing a tile, QR codes to lead students through the WebQuest or a link to a digital notebook that includes the links on each digital slide; the choice can be yours, or your students.

Your students will love the variety of ways to research and learn more about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and you will love the independence that a student-led WebQuest brings.

Prep is quick and easy… Just print the student pages and you're ready for a meaningful and engaging activity.

TEACHERS LIKE YOU SAID…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kylie B. says, “I really appreciate the variety of information presented in this Google Slide Presentation. Students learn about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s childhood, early career, and civil rights accomplishments. Students are guided to specific websites and asked to fill in information on the slides to keep track of what they learned. This presentation inspired my students to collect all their favorite MLK quotes, illustrate them, and make a collage. They are excited to plan an activity for the class to do remotely on MLK Day.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A 5th Grade Teacher says, “I continue to use this product over and over again each January. It is so user-friendly and has taken a lot off my plate. Thank you!”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hannah G. says, “This resource is amazing. I used it during reading stations after Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and it was highly engaging for my students!”
