  1. Alyssa B. –

This 2026 New Year’s Resolutions & Activities resource is a great addition to a self-contained special education classroom! I love that the Google Slides and Easel activities provide an engaging way for students to reflect on the past year and think about goals for the new year.

The activities are easy to incorporate into morning work, whole-group lessons, social-emotional learning, writing activities, or individual goal-setting. Students can practice identifying personal strengths, sharing things they enjoy, choosing goals, and thinking about steps they can take to reach those goals. These are meaningful skills that connect well to independence and self-advocacy.

The digital format is especially helpful for students who benefit from technology-based activities or have difficulty with traditional paper-and-pencil tasks. The activities can also be differentiated by allowing students to type, select responses, use visuals, or provide verbal answers. A fun and purposeful way to welcome students back from winter break while building reflection, communication, goal-setting, and independence skills!
