This pack includes everything that you need as you prepare for your maternity leave:
*An original book that I created, “What to Expect When My Teacher is Expecting,” to help you open a discussion with your students about maternity leave. I laminated and bound this book to share with my students.
*Word scramble with a secret message: Your teacher is having a baby! To announce pregnancy to the class.
*A parent volunteer form to invite parents to help out in your classroom and a form to send home for parent helpers.
*Making predictions activity-students can make predictions about the baby’s name, sex, weight, length and then collect the data using tally marks and graph the class data.
*Writing activity-“The Story of Me.” Students will write about the day they were born.
*Editable substitute handbook with everything you need for your sub: lesson planning pages, calendars, student information, passwords, content area information, birthdays, student information, and much more!
*Binder covers and spines

Love the idea behind this binder. The editable capabilities were very limited and frustrating. The Maternity Leave Spines were missing and I was unable to edit it to say maternity leave binder rather than substitute. I didn’t want my maternity leave binder to get mixed up with my regular substitute binder. The design as black and white was nice for my printer in my classroom.
The activities are cute and fun for the students so that is what I used and not the binder since it took more time to try to and edit on some items I was able to and some that were still unable to be edited even though some items were missing.

Hi Amy! I just took a look at the binder and was able to add in text boxes and add text to each of the pages that are editable. I’m sorry you found this frustrating but there is a page with directions that explains how to insert text boxes and it is labeled “Read first” in the zipped folder. There’s also a blank page with a header included if you needed to add your own heading. I also see that there are “Maternity Leave Binder” and “Handbook” pages included, so it can be used specifically for your leave. I looked carefully at the description provided and everything that is stated to be editable is editable in the docs provided; I’m sorry you felt this was limited, but due to the copyright of the fonts and graphics that I have purchased, I cannot provide pages that are completely editable.
