This writer's workshop lesson introduces your students to fictional narrative writing!
**Please note that the lesson does suggest using the mentor text “Tuesday” by David Weisner. This mentor text is a suggestion and the mini lesson does suggest discussions based on the book. All other components of the lesson DO NOT follow the book and can be used on their own or with a mentor text of your choice.**

An introduction to fictional narrative writing, suggested mentor text, anchor chart suggestion to introduce plot, characters, setting, theme, and conflict.
*A mini anchor chart for student writing notebooks-elements of a story.
*A two sided student flipbook for the writing process. Students can work their way through the writing process while keeping all of their writing in one place.
*A CCCS aligned goal setting sheet for students to use for setting goals while writing.
*Individual goal setting page
*Student friendly rubric based on grades 3-5 CCCS standards and I Can Statements.
*Lined paper for students to use for their published work.
*A certificate for student's published writing.
