Three close reading passages for May: Cinco de Mayo, George Lucas, and The Empire State Building nonfiction passages. Each passage includes three days of response pages with answer sheets; day 1 focuses on main idea and details, day 2 focuses on vocabulary and text structure, and day 3 focuses on theme, author craft and inferencing. Each passage also includes an extension activity where students can watch a video and complete a short activity. Please note that the videos are shared via YouTube.
